As we near the premiere of American Horror Story: Cult more information comes to light. Casting announcements were made long ago, but very little details about the characters have been made available until now.

In addition to playing the creepy, blue-haired, psychopath cult leader, Kai, Even Peters will take on a number of roles throughout season 7. He will depict actual historical cult leaders including Charles Manson, Jim Jones, David Koresh, and Andy Warhol… Which brings us to the appearance by Girls creator and star Lena Dunham.

Lena Dunham will also take on a historical role. She’s playing Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist writer who shot Andy Warhol. Solanas is the author of the SCUM Manifesto and has long advocated for women killing men. According to show creator Ryan Murphy, this episode is about the female rage of the past and present.

Former AHS star Emma Roberts will playing the role of a journalist named Serina Belinda who wins a promotion over another character: “Simply because she’s much more superficial and willing to do what it takes to survive.”

As can be seen in the latest trailer, Billie Lourd has joined the cast as “Winter,” a member of the cult led by Kai. Kai manipulates her into becoming a nanny for a lesbian couple raising a child together– played by AHS fan favorite Sarah Paulson and newcomer Alison Pill. Paulson’s character (Ally) is struggling quite a bit with a clown phobia– which is being exploited by the new nanny.

Murphy has also confirmed this season contains no supernatural elements whatsoever. So, come September 5th, we can all sit back, relax, and watch the evils of man unravel in American Horror Story: Cult
